Dr. Mark Dekutoski: CORE Research Specialist

March 24, 2017
Currently, Dr. Mark Dekutoski, MD works with the CORE Institute in Arizona. As a member of their research team, he specializes in research into such areas as minimally-invasive spine treatments for adults and children with such medical conditions as deformity-scoliosis, spine tumors, and disc degeneration among many other spinal issues. One reason the folks at CORE Institute sought him out was because of his considerable research prowess and because of his willingness and ability to teach the next generation of orthopedic surgeons the newest methods for treating patients, which promises to move medicine forward.

Put simply, Dr. Mark Dekutoski loves to teach, and it’s possible that love of teaching comes from a lifelong love of learning. His education is quite solid, starting with the B.A. He earned from Albion University in 1982. He also attended Wayne State University School of Medicine and officially became Dr. Mark Dekutoski, MD in 1986. He completed an internship in general surgery in 1987 and a residency in orthopedic surgery in 1991 from Wayne State. He was also a John H. Moe Clinical Spine Fellow at the Twin Cities Scoliosis Spine Center at the University of Minnesota in 1993.
